My Writing

I am a nonfiction author, whose work looks at themes of belonging, cultural inheritance and the value of heritage. I am represented by Kate Nash Literary Agency.  I am also a global health specialist writing on locally relevant and locally-led solutions to eliminate preventable illness and enable affected communities to thrive and support the achievement of global development goals. I have written OP-EDs  for newspapers in the UK (e.g. the Herald), Africa (e.g. The Nation in Kenya and The Sunday Mail in Zimbabwe) and the USA.

My Education Work

I am the founding director of the education NGO Mwenje Wedu Trust in Zimbabwe. Mwenje Wedu means ‘our light’ and the Trust’s aim is to enable children and youth in Zimbabwe to reach their full potential through providing scholarships, training, social enterprise and creating an enabling learning environment. I also make health and science education films for school children in Scotland and Zimbabwe.
